Piece Aphrodite, shared the same name with the Greek Goddess of Love, and considered the most beautiful Saint. Despite his deceptive appearance, Aphrodite is a male. Although he comes with a beautiful outlook, he is actually cruel beyond hope. Like Death Mask, he knew the real identity of the Pope and he still chooses to follow him. His attacks with roses, "Royal Demon Rose" (red), "Piranha Rose" (black), "Bloody Rose" (white). Each colored rose represent a specific function to decapitate his opponents; red roses are poisonous, black are explosive, and white ones drain an enemy's life force.

He secretly followed Scorpio Milo to attacked Andromeda Island and killed Shun's master, Cepheu Daidalos. In the second last battle in "Retaking of the Sanctuary", Andromeda Shun is his opponent, a battle between warriors with severe lack of testosterone. Knowing about the facts that Pieces Aphrodite murdered his master, the normally docile Andromeda Shun enraged and execute his ultimate attack, "Nebula Storm". With the newly found seventh sense added on top of that, he ended up killing Pieces Aphrodite.

Later he and Cancer Death Mask were revived by Hades to have Athena's head taken to Hades, but they were again stopped by Aries Mu and sent back to Hell by Rhadamanthys.

Story
Ares was a son of Zeus and Hera, and was known as the Roman god, Mars. He is a god of war but many Greek kingdoms did not worship him because Ares personified uncontrolled and murderous killing in war, and he engaged in bloody strife for the sheer love of combat itself. Many Greeks preferred Athena, the goddess of war, whose judgment is not clouded by the passion of fighting.

As the story goes, for a few hundreds of years, the Gods will re-incarnate as a human to rule the world. Athena reincarnated as a baby girl. Owing to the discord and jealousy on Athena, Ares cheated by possessing the body of a full-grown man. He chooses Gemini Saga who also has subdued dark side of himself due to the side effect of Gemini Cloth. The possessed Saga killed the aged Shion and took his place as the Master of Sanctuary. With the facemask he wears and the voice change initiated by Ares possession, no one notices until he is discovered in an attempt to murder the infant Athena by Sagittarius Aioros. He sent then Capricorn Shura to hunt down Aioros and continue to rule over the Sanctuary for the next one and a half decades.

Saga comes with a few special attacks up his sleeves. He could control time and space via “Another Dimension” where it tore a space-time fabric and swept his opponent into it. That is not his best technique. His other skill, “Galaxian Explosion”, is a more straightforward technique that clashes two parts of his cosmos to create a galactic size explosion (literally speaking). During his possession by Ares, he is seen using “Demon Emperor Fist”, a skill similar to Ikki’s “Phoenix Genma Ken”, to put Leo Aioria under his mind control. In term of cosmo power, it is safe to say that Saga can only be surpassed by Virgo Shaka and maybe Libra Dohko.

Story
Capricorn Shura, a Gold Saint said to be the most loyal to Athena and for this, he is granted Excalibur, a scared sword, hidden in his right arm. When Aioros is running away from the Sanctuary with the baby Athena, Ares make use of Shura's blind loyalty and sent him out to hunt the fugitives. Shura mortally injured Aioros but could not bear to kill the infant.

Much later, when the Bronze Saints is intruding the Sanctuary, Shura guarded the Capricorn palace and duel with Shiryu. His most powerful attack, Excalibur, could cut through anything that is in it ways including Shiryu legendary Dragon Shield, which is believe to be invisible. In that particular duel, Shiryu trap Shura and catapult both of them together to the atmosphere. Shiryu act of selflessness woke up Shura and he realizes his loyalty is misplaced. He repented by saving Shiryu with his Capricorn Gold Cloth but Shura ended up dead, burn up in the atmosphere.

He later returns in Chapter Hades with a mission to assassinate Athena along with other revived Gold Saints. Can the once noted to be the most loyal Saint to Athena becomes a traitor?

Story
Aioros, Gold Saint of Sagittarius, is the shortest live character in Saint Seiya TV Series as he died in the very first episode itself but his demise is a major starter for the series.

Saint Seiya's story opens with Graude Foundation sponsoring a tournament, known as the "Galaxian Wars", in search for the Saint that is able to wear the Gold Cloth of Sagittarius. Mitsumasa Kiddo, the leader of the Graude Foundation, arranged this tournament but due to his sudden death, his granddaughter, Saori Kiddo, carried on the tournament.

Aioros appears thirteen years ago when an infant is born in Greece as reincarnation of Athena, the Goddess of Wisdom. Shion was master of Sanctuary at the time and supposedly leading the Saints until the Athena is ready to rule.

However, Aioros rescued the infant Athena from an attempt of murder by the Master of Sanctuary. He by chance discovered that Master of Sanctuary is not Shion and ran away with the infant. During his get away, his pursuer, Capricorn Shura, mortally wounded him. He managed to escape and while dying, he was found by Mitsumasa Kiddo. Mitsumasa adopted the infant and received the Gold Cloth of Sagittarius from Aioros. Aioros died and branded as a traitor to the Sanctuary.

Story
Virgo Shaka, believed to be a Gold Saint whose cosmos is being nearest to God, has an indifference towards justice. He knew that the Master of the Sanctuary is evil and yet swear his allegiance to him as he believe that good and evil has no absolution and just a mere matter of perception that changes over time. His believe changed as the fighting spirit of Phoenix Ikki touches him during his duel at the Palace of Virgo.

His special attacks 'Tenbu Hourin' is believe to possess the strongest offence and defense, an attack, which trapped his opponent in the 'Wheel of Truth' upon execution. Shaka then will have absolute control over his entrapped opponent where he can casually destroy his opponent’s six senses one after another. This deadly attack is only seen twice on anime; during the duel with Phoenix Ikki at Palace of Virgo in ‘Retaking of Sanctuary’ and against the three revived Gold Saints, Saga, Shura, Camus in ‘Hades: Chapter Sanctuary’. Shaka's 'Tenbu Hourin' is almost invincible and by far only seen bested by the forbidden attack, 'Athena Exclamation', executed by combining the power of three Gold Saints. This proves Shaka's reputation as 'One Whom Nearest to God'.

Aquarius Camus is a short-live character who only appears twice in Saint Seiya TV series. He was the mentor to Crystal Saint and therefore something of a hero to Cygnus Hyoga. He seems to be on Athena's side, but due to his oaths of loyalty to the leader of Sanctuary cannot act openly in her behalf. He made his first appearance at Zodiacal Palace Libra to test his grand pupil, Cygnus Hyoga. Camus demonstrated the power of a gold saint and clearly shown to Hyoga that in order to defeat any gold saints, Hyoga must attain the seventh sense, the highest achievement of a saint’s cosmos. Hyoga ended failing his test. He froze Hyoga in an ice coffin by knowing well that Hyoga could not acquire the required seventh sense at his current state. Of course, the stubborn grand disciple just could not give up and confront Camus again in Aquarius Zodiacal Palace. For the last time, Camus demonstrated and taught Hyoga his most powerful cold attack, Aurora Execution. Both Camus and Hyoga executed the same attack in that duel but only Hyoga survived the confrontation. Camus ended up dead as an ice Popsicle…

Garuda Aikos is the second Hades Surplices in this Saint Cloth Myth series. He is name base on one of the 3 judges of Hades. I have not watch Chapter Inferno thus I really could tell much about him. From what I have seen in the second Saint Seiya 3D fighting video game by Bandai, Garuda Aikos and Griffon Minos intervened the duel between Gemini Kanon and Wyvern Rhadamanthys, in an attempt to protect Rhadamanthys from being defeated. It is an unfair 3 on 1 fight until Phoenix Ikki appeared to save Kanon thus concluding the Chapter Inferno OVA.

Griffin Minos is a character from "Saint Seiya: Chapter Inferno" anime series. He is named after Minos in Greek Mythology. According to the anime series, he is one of the Hades's Three Judges along with Wyvern Rhadamanthys and Garuda Aikos.
"Cosmic Marionation" is Griffin Minos special attack. It is first seen at a second duel between Gemini Kanon and Wyvern Rhadamanthys. In that duel, Gemini Kanon was gaining an upper hand over Rhadamanthys, almost defeating him. In order to protect Rhadamanthys's life, Griffin Minos launched his "Cosmic Marionation" in a surprise attack entangling Gemini Kanon with his puppet strings. That attack gives him full control on his opponent's physical body, just like a puppet, where he can manipulate his ensnared opponent in any way he desire. His attack was disrupted by Phoenix Ikki just before he has the chance to finish off Kanon.

Mizar Zeta Syd was the first God Warrior to appear in the Asgard chapter. He was sent to the Sanctuary to 'declare' war against Athena. He defeated Taurus Aldebaran with one blow (it was later revealed that a hidden force helped him). Then he went in Japan to kill Athena, he was stopped by Seiya and Shun, and he returned to his country waiting for the Saints to come and fight there. He was defeated by Shun's Nebula Storm in the Valhalla palace. Before his death, it was revealed he always knew about his twin brother, Alcor Zeta Bud. He told him, that he always was in his heart and he and their parents never forgot him. He wanted to help his brother in killing Ikki but Bud couldn't attack his own brother. Then he understood that he loved his brother.

Story

Crystal Saint is a character created in the Saint Seiya TV series only. In manga, Aquarius Camus is Cygnus Hyoga's master. In the anime series, Crystal Saint is introduced as Hyoga's master and a disciple of Aquarius Camus.
Crystal Saint was a kind man with an extremely strong sense of justice. His abilities hovered around a silver saint level. He opposed the Pope Ares's actions against Saori Kido and her bronze saints. However, before the Crystal Saint could speak out further, the Pope used his Emperor Demon Fist, a technique that forced the victim to obey him against his will, practically brainwashing him.
The changed Crystal Saint was then sent to assassinate Hyoga, using little Yakoff and the people of the village where he used to live as hostages. Seiya was warned of this by Marin and managed to reach Siberia in time to free Yakoff and the townspeople and tell Hyoga. A battle ensued between teacher and student, with Hyoga reluctantly landing the final blow. The strike knocked the Crystal Saint out of Ares's grasp, but proved fatal as well. After mourning him, with Yakoff and Seiya's help Hyoga buried him in the Siberian ice.

Aldebaran, a Brazilian named after the brightest star in the constellation Taurus, is the only Gold Saint taller than 2 meters. Although his sheer physical size may intimidate most of his opponent, he is considered kind and straight forward. During the fight between the Bronze Saints at the Sanctuary, he saw the enthusiasm in Seiya, and their potentials, and allowed them to pass through his palace after a tough fight. His friendship with Mu seems to be very close. 'Great Horn', his ultimate attack, is a defensive and then counters technique that easily barricades any warrior who wishes to pass through him.

Although defeated by a Marina and then by a Specter (it is just sad for him to be used as a scapegoat by the author to show the strength of the enemy) in the chapter Hades, Mu said that he is the physically the strongest Saint out of all 88.

Milo believes the Master of Sanctuary’s story that Athena is dead and Saori is an imposter. When the Master of Sanctuary decides that it is pointless to send more Silver Saints after our Bronze Saints, it is Milo who is sent to Andromeda Island to blackmail Andromeda Shun into leaving Athena by destroying the training camp there and injuring many of the people on the Island, including Shun's teacher. While intended to convince Shun not to accompany his friends in retaking Sanctuary and to dishearten him, the effect is the reverse, it seems to give Shun the incentive to fight as hard as he can in the following battles. Later Milo fights Hyoga in the re-taking of the Sanctuary and begins to have doubts about the authenticity of the Master's story of Athena and Saori.

In that duel, Milo demonstrated his ultimate attack, Restriction and Scarlet Needle. Restriction is a technique that immobilize his opponents and only seen once against the bronze Saints. His other main attack is that of the "Scarlet Needle", which punches small but deadly holes in his opponents. The holes are made in a specific pattern that of the stars in the constellation Scorpio. The last attack is placed in the "Scorpion's Heart", Antares, and is the final fatal blow.

Mu first appears in the depths of the Chinese Mountains, when Dragon Shiryu bring the damaged Dragon and Pegasus cloth for him to repair since he is the only person alive who has the unique ability to repair a damaged saint's cloth. This blacksmith is later revealed as one of the 12 Gold Saints when he appeared at the first constellation palace during the retaking of the sanctuary. He is all dress up in the golden Aries Cloth and again doing his blacksmithing job by repairing all 5 bronze saint armors.

Aries has a non-confrontational attitude towards battle and thus his combat ability remain mysterious until Chapter Hades. His special attack, Crystal Wall, is a protective stance that erects an invincible energy wall that deflects any sort of incoming attack. Shion who was the predecessor of Aries Cloth, his master and the actual Master of the Sanctuary, is the only person known who can defeat his “Crystal Wall” with ease.

Cancer Deathmask is a Gold Saint with an evil personality who serves Ares willingly for as long as he is able to roam free to kill people. He was first send by Ares to retrieve Roshi's Libra Cloth by force but stopped by the combine action of Dragon Shiryu and Aries Mu. He later guards his Cancer palace during the re-taking of Sanctuary. During his duel with Shiryu, he shows his ultimate attack that create a death wave with the ability to transport both himself and any opponent to Hades, either in spirit or in body. His Cancer Gold Cloth then no longer tolerates his sinful deed. The cloth abandons him and allows Shiryu to defeat him in Hades.

Dohko, also known as Roshi, is Dragon Shiryu's mentor and as well as a Gold Saint of Libra. He is perhaps the strongest Gold Saint and the eldest alive. Other Gold Saints pay respect to him and heed his command by default. The Yoda-like midget is actually a hero at about 500 years back where he used to fight side by side with the previous Aries Gold Saint, Shion whom is the rightful Master of the Sanctuary. In Chapter Hades, Roshi reverted to his youthful form and challenge Shion for the last time. At that duel, he demonstrates his most powerful attack twice to Shiryu, the ultimate "Rozan Hyaku Ryu Ha" (Rozan Hundred Dragon Punch).

Beside Dohko background, the Libra Gold Cloth has its story of its own. Libra represents justice and a Libra Saint is the executioner in the event where a Saint has committed unforgivable crime should he be a Bronze or Gold. Athena granted special permission to Libra to utilize physical weapon to aid in the execution of justice. There are altogether 12 weapons hidden on the Libra Cloth.

Dubhe Alpha Siegfried is an anime character from the Asgard chapter of Saint Seiya, the manga series by Masami Kurumada. He is one of the seven God Warriors of Asgard, and serves under Polaris Hilda.

Siegfried was said to be the reincarnation of the legendary hero Siegfried. In Norse Mythology, he was a hero who fought and slew the evil dragon Fafnir. Not only did he win countless treasure hordes by the dragon, he also bathed himself in the blood of the beast, making his body invulnerable, giving him the reputation of "the Invincible Warrior." However, a falling leaf landed on the back of his heart during this, leaving one spot of his flesh still vulnerable. Eventually, he fell into a trap set by people jealous of him, and was killed from a spear blow through the back of his heart.

Reborn in the current time, Siegfried had known Hilda, the Guardian Priest of Asgard, long before becoming a God Warrior. Although life was very difficult, Hilda ruled Asgard with much kindness and benevolence, and prayed that war would never come to Asgard. Siegfried secretly loved Hilda in his heart, and vowed to protect her with his life.

When the time for the legendary God Warriors to return has come, Siegfried and his close friend Hagen, were chosen to become God Warriors. However, he noticed that Hilda has changed to become a more aggressive and power-hungry ruler after this. He was also warned by Hilda's sister, Freya, that Hilda has changed her nature recently. Unlike the previous gentle guardian, she was now like a devil who hungered for conquest. Siegfried felt doubtful about Hilda's nature, but he did not question Hilda, and remained blindly loyal to her command.

Story
The constellation of Gemini bestowed its cosmos powers to a set of twin, Saga and Kanon. While Saga is constantly trapped in a constant inner struggle between good and evil, Kanon is born with the natural instinct for evil.

Kanon and Saga is both granted with almost godly cosmos power and thus Kanon's growing ambition drives him to revealed his plan to Saga to overthrown the infant Athena and rule over the world as brothers. Gemini Saga, being a loyal Athena Saint, felt disgusted with Kanon's plan and asked Kanon to repent. The persuasion failed and Saga has no choice but to beat up Kanon and lock him up in Cape Sunion, a watery grave fit for a traitor of Athena. Saga left Kanon to die there.

Kanon was trapped for 10 days and barely survived. Refusing to give up his ambition, he search for a way out and found the concealed legendary trident of the Lord of the Seas, Poseidon. Kanon removed the weakening Seal of Athena from the Trident. Being freed, the Trident sought to returned to its owner, taking Kanon along the ride, freeing him from the watery jail.

He is later awaken at the Sanctuary of Poseidon and entered the Temple of Poseidon. He found seven Poseidon Sea General Marine Scales, each located at the high on individual pillars. Below the scale of Poseidon was a metallic jar. When Kanon places the trident next to jar and the similar weaken seal of Athena vanquish and awaken the soul of Poseidon.

Poseidon speaks to Kanon and during the conversation, Kanon seized the opportunity, impersonate as the Seadragon General in order to manipulate the army of Poseidon to fulfill his ambition.

Saint Cloth Myth Kraken Isaak

Story
Kraken Isaac is the Sea General of Kraken, and the guardian of the Arctic Ocean Pillar. His notable characteristics are that of cold ruthless man, who has no emotion and fights for the ideal of "true justice".

Kraken Isaac shares a past with Cygnus Hyoga and thus becomes an important figure under Hyoga's life. Cygnus Hyoga met Isaac when he first began his training in Siberia with Camus (or Crystal Saint in anime). On Hyoga first attempt to dive into the seas, he was hit with unnaturally powerful whirlpools. As a result, Hyoga lost control and Isaac come to his rescue. The attempt causes Isaac lost his left eye and swept away by the whirlpool.

There is no chance that Isaac will survive the incident but it has been Poseidon's will that has saved Isaac life and had granted him a second chance to life. Isaac soon learns about Poseidon's ideal dream of the perfect world for humans. The current world had become polluted and vilified by humans, and as such, a second great flooding will wash away everything in order to create a new Eden for everyone.

When Hyoga and Isaac finally reunited in Chapter Poseidon, he is a completely changed man and he displayed resentment towards Hyoga for the lost of his eye and for the lost of the Cygnus Cloth. Hyoga sympathized him and offered Isaac his own left eye, an offer that the sea general gladly accepted.

In the showdown, Isaac is defeated by Hyoga.

Aurora Borealis is a technique on par with Camus' Aurora Execution, although a bit weaker. However, this technique was much stronger than almost all the techniques under Cygnus Hyoga's knowledge. Most Isaac attacks are cold water based. Similar to Hyoga, he can also project his Cosmo to freeze things, as noted by his first appearance he instantly turned the wind into snow. While Aurora Borealis is Isaac's main technique of attack, it successfully penetrates Hyoga's defenses and is the best technique he employs that makes best use of the cold.

Siren Sorrento, one of the Poseidon Mariner Generals, first revealed himself as Poseidon's messenger, who gave the Nibelung Ring to Hilda, the guardian of Asgard.

Sorrento revealed himself toward the end of Asgard Chapter, and fought with Alpha Star Dubhe Siegfried, who realized that Hilda is under the manipulation of Poseidon. Siegfried, already injured from battling with the Bronze Saints, could not overcome Sorrento's "Dead End Symphony" even after he pierced his eardrums; he was still able to hear the music. Siegfried realized that the only way to defeat Sorrento is to self-sacrifice himself. He grabbed onto Sorrento and then was going to kill both of them by ascending into space. However, Sorrento was able to free himself by projecting a demon fairy image to shock Siegfried, and then playing his song to weaken Siegfried, causing Siegfried to release his hold.

Later in Chapter Poseidon, he appears as guardian of the Pillar of the South Atlantic Ocean. Sorrento faced Andromeda Shun in battle. Andromeda Shun was also no match for Siren Sorrento's techniques and being crippled by the power of Sorrento's “Dead End Symphony”. However, he was interrupted when both heard the prayer of Athena. Shun decided to use "Rolling Defense", which can block out any sound wave by repelling the air, but Sorrento used his music to destroy Shun's Cloth and Nebula Chains. Shun used Nebula Stream to restrict Sorrento's movements, making him unable to play his flute. Knowing that, upon using his full power, “Nebula Stream” would become “Nebula Storm” and will kill Sorrento. Shun asked him to surrender. Sorrento, telling him that Poseidon's generals would never beg for mercy from an enemy, continued to play the "Dead End Climax." Shun had no choice but to use “Nebula Storm” to defeat Sorrento.

Although Sorrento was thought to be dead, he actually survived this attack. After Poseidon was defeated and sealed, Sorrento again encountered Julian Solo, now no longer with the spirit of Poseidon. They became friends although Julian does not remember their previous meeting. Sorrento accompanied Julian to use the power of his music to bring joy to the victims who suffered from the global natural disasters caused by Poseidon's awakening.

The Phoenix Saint
While Ikki is officially recognized as a bronze saint, his base power easily places him well above most silver saints, and his reputation as a powerhouse is common knowledge among his peers and fellow bronze saints. Even as a child, Ikki was known as the toughest kid of the 100 orphans, and would often defend his delicate younger brother Shun from the other children. He could easily be recognized as the strongest bronze saint when it comes to raw power.
Ikki's personality is drastically different from his fellow bronze saints. He is almost the opposite of his younger brother -- Shun is calm, soft, caring and very emotional, whereas Ikki is harsh, cold, aggressive, and very much of a loner. Fellow saint Wolf Nachi once pointed out that it was very hard to believe Ikki and Shun were related due to the extreme difference in their personalities.
As noted by Kanon in the Poseidon arc and by Pandora in the Hades chapter, Ikki's cosmos is unique to him -- it is a cosmos full of hatred, anger, incredible aggression and power, but it was still guided by his deep love and loyalty for his younger brother, his friends and Athena. Although he dislikes working in groups, he comes to battle whenever Athena's saints need his help, and is often seen coming in the nick of time to save his younger brother and friends from certain death. This tactic has always been exploited to their advantage, since the enemies are caught by surprise upon meeting/fighting him. He is a noble, complex and mature character, who does not doubt whenever it's necessary to sacrifice his life for his friends.

Power and abilities
Ikki is hinted many times to be the most powerful bronze saint as he often pitted against the strongest enemies. Like the myth of the Phoenix, his power increases every time he is killed and resurrected. In his battle with Virgo Shaka, Ikki was able to awaken his 7th sense, which placed him in the ranks of gold saints in terms of power and skill. He is also the only bronze saint confirmed to have awaken the 8th sense, as he demonstrated the ability to enter the Underworld without needing the aid of Athena's blood. As a saint, Ikki uses two techniques to dispose of his enemies; one deals physical damage, and the other destroys the mind of his foe.
His physical attack is Phoenix's Wings Rise (鳳翼天翔, Hōyokutenshō?), which gathers forces of wind and heat into a concentrated point, then unleashed as a single blow. This attack covers a wide range of distance and it is Ikki's signature move. It may also be used on multiple enemies at the same time. In the manga, the attack is performed strictly with his palms only; in the anime, it is revised to include his fists, although the Phoenix Saint has utilized the original form of the technique on several occasions.
His other attack is Phoenix Illusion Demonic Fist (鳳凰幻魔拳, Hōōgenmaken?), which is infamous for destroying the minds of its victims -- the technique is dealt from either a single fist or a finger. Concentrating his cosmo into a sharp laser beam attack infused with sharp heat that enables the move to literally destroy his opponent's mind. Once used, it sends various nightmare illusions directly created by the opponent's brain; he or she is trapped within an illusion that is almost indistinguishable from reality. It also considerably weakens ones's control of the cosmos and depth of perception to reality. Ikki's Phoenix Illusion Demonic Fist usually spells doom for the one in the receiving end -- unless he has an unusually powerful mind or cosmos, such as a gold saint.
In addition to weakening and trapping an enemy in a powerful illusion (followed by instant death) this attack also serves to dwelve deep into an enemy's mind - as was the case when this attack was used on Gemini Kanon during his reign in the Poseidon story arc and many other characters in the Asgard chapter.
In some battles, Ikki first uses the Phoenix Illusion Demon Fist to paralyze his rival, and then deals the Phoenix's Wings Rise to finish him off.

Constellation and the immortal Phoenix Cloth
The Phoenix Cloth represents the constellation of Phoenix, which is associated to the immortal bird that is reborn from its ashes, found in folkore and mythologies of diverse cultures.
Ikki is connected to his cloth and constellation in more ways than one. The Phoenix cloth has the uncanny ability to reform from atoms if pulverized -- an ability that not even gold cloths have. Ikki himself can never truly die for good; while he can be killed, the constellation of the Phoenix grants him the power of resurrection. It is implied in the series that Ikki also receives a boost in strength from every revival as sometimes the cloth evolves. Unlike every other cloths that require a massive amount of blood to repair, the Phoenix cloth can regenerate as many times as it is destroyed without the need of outside aid. But just as the other bronze cloths had, the phoenix cloth, too, would come to evolve its design with each regeneration. The Phoenix has changed form twice in the anime so far. Changes:
-Manga 1st change: When Shaka reforms it from dust after bringing Ikki back from an alternative plane.
-Anime 1st change: After the battle of the twelve temples, his Phoenix Cloth took a new form empowered by the blood of Virgo Shaka.
-2nd change in both: When Ikki reappears in Hell to battle Garuda Aiacos during the Hades arc.
-Manga 3rd change: When Ikki accidentally touched Athena's blood in the Elysion Fields, and along with Ikki's already heightened cosmos, prompted the cloth to evolve into the Phoenix God Cloth.

The Gold Cloth of Leo
Being born under the sign of Leo, Ikki is allowed a bit of power from that constellation. As a result, when the bronze saints are faced with a threat that requires the aid of a gold cloth, Ikki is given the option to don the Leo cloth. This is seen when the gold cloth assembled itself on him during the fight with Thanatos, the God of Death.

The Phoenix God Cloth
It has been shown in the next episode of the Hades saga that all remaining bronze saint will be getting their respective god cloths, including Phoenix Ikki. The new episode will be aired on August 2nd.

The Saint of Andromeda
Perhaps the most reluctant of the bronze saints, Shun is the official Bronze Saint of the Andromeda constellation. He is a merciful soul by nature, and a firm believer in solving problems without causing bloodshed. This creates a sharp contrast between himself and the rest of the Saints: Whereas they will not hesitate to battle when the situation demands it, Shun only allows himself to fight if it's an absolute necessity, or when his almost endless patience wears off. When any of these things happen, Shun becomes an extremely vicious fighter.
Shun comes off rather badly in the Movies and 'Asgard' arc. In almost every fight scene, he almost always loses, and needs his brother Ikki to rescue him (except against Mizar Zeta Syd, the one time Shun defeated a foe in either the Movies or 'Asgard' anime-only story).
However, in the 'Sanctuary', 'Poseidon' and 'Hades' storylines, Shun comes off as a good, if reluctant fighter. In 'Sanctuary', he manages to hold his own against Gemini Saga, and even manages to kill Pisces Aphrodite, both of them Gold Saints. In 'Poseidon', he acquits himself nicely, defeating Io, the Southern Pacific Mariner General of Scylla, and Sorrento, the Southern Atlantic Mariner General of Siren. In 'Hades', he manages to dispatch various opponents. As a result, he comes off looking much better in these arcs than in the Movies or 'Asgard'; though he may be reluctant to fight, he will when he has to, and is just as powerful or skilled as any of the other main Bronze Saints (Shiryu, Hyoga, etc.)

Power and abilities
To fight, Shun normally uses the Andromeda chain as he does not want to use his full power because he does not want to kill the opponents. During the Sanctuary Arc Shun awoke the 7th sense in his fights against the Gold Saints. His known techniques are:
-Nebula Chain:The Andromeda Saint's favorite technique which allows him to manipulate the chains of his cloth however he pleases. At the most basic, the "Nebula Chain" is a straight-forward attack where the chains rapidly slice and wrap themselves around the enemy. This attack can be improved by using the Thunder Wave of the chain.
-Rolling Defense: is a simple defensive technique that utilizes Shun's chains in one of two ways: he will either twirl the chains around himself to create a barrier, or set them on the ground to mimic a circular web -- this was later named the Circle Defense In web mode, the chains construct a distance between himself and the opponent, and will discharge energy volts or simply slash the enemy if they attempt to enter the field.
-Great Capture: a technique that twists the chains to paralyze, capture, or immobilize foes. Shun also uses other ways of capturing opponents with Boomerang Shoot, Spiral Duct, etc.
-Nebula Stream: is a defensive attack that links directly to Shun's cosmos. It entangles the foe with streams of the Andromeda cosmos in attempt to paralyze them. As Shun becomes more determined to use his true power, the stream will eventually transfigure into the "Nebula Storm" technique.
-Nebula Storm: By the time Shun has chosen to execute it his cloth and chains are abandoned (either voluntarily or destroyed by his opponent) to allow him full access to his cosmos. The attack is dispelled as a single burst from the summit of Shun's cosmos. Because of its destructive nature, Shun will only use it as a last resort.

Constellation and the Chains of Andromeda
The Andromeda Cloth represents the constellation Andromeda, which is associated to princess Andromeda, who was chained to be sacrificed to the monster Cetus, in Greek mythology. The chains from the Andromeda cloth are said to be the very same chains used to tied the mythological character in her legend. The chains are legendary for their durability as well as defensive nature, and have only been completely shattered few times. They are also renowned for their great length, as they can be extended far enough to reach light years away. When there's a really great evil, the chains can become charged with negative energy and release lightning shocks of at least 10.000 volts. This happens just once in the anime series, when Unicorn Jabu grabs them just before Ikki's reappearance in the Galactic Tournament, despite Shun's warnings; he refused to let go of the chains and received the electric backlash fully. Along with his comrades, Shun's bronze cloth has changed shape several times throughout the series. The manga and anime both parallel each other in terms of the Andromeda Cloth's evolution (although, it should be noted that the cloth received one extra repair in the anime; however, it did not change shape after it):
-When Gold Saint Virgo Shaka (Taurus Aldebaran in the anime) revived it using his own blood.
-When the former Pope Shion of the Aries Constellation rejuvenated it with Athena's fresh blood during the beginning of the Hades arc.
-When Shun summoned his cosmos to protect his older brother Ikki from a would-be-fatal blow by Hypnos, the God of Sleep.

The Gold Cloth of Virgo
As Shun was born under the astrological constellation of Virgo, he has the privilege of donning the gold cloth in times of crisis. This was shown when he and his fellow bronze saints (also wearing gold cloths each) battled the God of Death, Thanatos.

The Saint of Cygnus
One of the main characters in the series, Hyoga appears calm, collected, and unemotional. Beneath the surface, however, he is passionate and devoted to his ideals. As a Saint born under the Cygnus constellation, Hyoga is able to control and manipulate ice and snow as he pleases, as he mastered the basis of the technique of the Saints of ice, stop the atoms of matter by the power of their Cosmo.

Power and abilities
By increasing his cosmos, Hyoga can freeze objects and people. In his fight against Aquarius Camus, Hyoga awoke the 7th sense and used absolute zero air, being able even to freeze the Gold Cloths. In the Hades Arc, Hyoga was able to use a variation of the Freezing Coffin of his teacher but it was not named.
The Cygnus Saint's favorite technique is Diamond Dust (ダイヤモンドダスト, daiyamondo dasuto?) which is a windy attack that blasts ice and snow at the opponent in a single, concentrated point. Hyoga has used this technique for other purposes, like creating a mirror that reflects certain attacks or performing this attack in the legs of the opponent.
Before learning Aurora Execution his most powerful technique is Kholodnyi Smerch (ホーロドニースメルチ, Hōrodonī sumeruchi?, Cyrillic: холодный смерч, meaning "ice tornado"; renamed "Aurora Thunder Attack" in the anime). It is the a technique that captures his Cosmo into a single tornado, of which is unleashed via an uppercut. It is a move that, is in essence, a more powerful variation of "Diamond Dust." The "Aurora Thunder Attack" clasps both of Hyoga's hands together as he expels snow and ice at the opponent.
Hyoga learns Aurora Execution (オーロラエクスキューション, ōrora ekusukūshon?) directly from battling his master, Gold Saint Camus of the Aquarius. "Aurora Execution" is a gold saint level technique that enables the user to have control over absolute zero, a point where everything becomes frozen. "Aurora Execution" is similar to "Aurora Thunder Attack" in execution.
A technique that is not used for a particular objective is Kolitso (カリツォー, karitsō?, Russian for "ring") in which he creates an ice ring that surrounds and paralyzes the opponent.

Constellation and the Bronze Cloth of Cygnus

The Cygnus Cloth represents the constellation Cygnus, which is associated to various swans from greek mythology, included Zeus, disguised as a swan to seduce Leda, and Orpheus, that was transformed into a swan after his murder. The Cygnus constellation is also known as the Northern Cross, and it's the reason why Kurumada made Hyoga always carry a cross and rosary with him. While it is not as durable as the shield found on the Dragon Cloth, nor does it contain regenerative abilities like the Phoenix Cloth, the Cygnus Cloth is nevertheless revered as a premiere bronze cloth. Being that it had been encased in a frozen iceberg years prior, it naturally absorbed the Arctic properties of its surroundings. Thus, it is quite the feat for one to completely shatter it. Phoenix Ikki comments that it also had a "frost armor" effect, when he fought Hyoga and smashed a hole on Hyoga's chest guard, he felt his right wrist freeze.
The Bronze Cloth of Cygnus constantly evolves to expand its durability and power. In both the manga and the anime, it changes shape a total of three times:
-When it is revived with the blood of Gold Saint Milo of the Scorpio Constellation.
-When the fresh blood of Athena recreates an otherwise unrepairable cloth.
-When Hyoga is able to heighten his cosmos to evolve the shattered Cygnus Cloth to God Cloth level in the fight against Hypnos, the God of Sleep.

The Gold Cloth of Aquarius
After the war against Sanctuary had passed, Hyoga obtained the privilege to wear his master's Aquarius Gold Cloth during times of extreme crisis. He, along with Pegasus Seiya and Dragon Shiryu, don gold cloths in the final confrontation against Poseidon. Later in the Hades arc, Hyoga is given the gold cloth to borrow once more when the five bronze saints battle Thanatos, the God of Death.

Seiya is the main character of his namesake series, Saint Seiya. He is one of the eighty-eight saints of Athena, and serves loyally at her side. Seiya dons the bronze Cloth (an armor that denotes sainthood) of Pegasus, and draws Cosmo from the constellation that connects to it. During the start of the series, Seiya's main objective is to find his older sister Seika, who disappeared from Japan when Seiya is sent to train to become a saint. However, as the series continue Seiya eventually starts fighting alongside the other bronze saints to protect Athena. During his childhood in Greece, he meets Eagle Marin, a female silver saint who trains him to become a saint. Due to her similarity with Seika, Seiya starts thinking Marin is his sister but during his fight against Thanatos he discovers he was wrong and find his real sister. Seiya tends to be the most immature Saint, as he always jokes and he does not quite concern about consequences of his actions. He also has big respect to his partners, turning pretty furious if they are in danger.
Seiya is a decently capable fighter; he has the uncanny talent of understanding the mechanics of an opponent's technique after seeing it performed. In many of Seiya's fights, he begins receiving all the attacks but works hard to gain enough of an advantage to outclass his opponent by the end of the battle, such as trying to evade the attack of the opponent or looking a way to break his defense. Although Seiya is not necessarily the most powerful bronze saint, his determination and courage, along with the support of his friends and Athena, allows him to overcome many obstacles and adversaries.

Abilities
Although Seiya began his journey as a bronze saint -- the lowest of three ranks --, his abilities gradually grows to rival those of gold saints, the most powerful of Athena's soldiers, by awakening his 7th sense Cosmo. Before descending into the realm of Hades he also awakes his 8th sense Cosmo, allowing him to enter into the Underworld without dying. His most seen technique is the Pegasus Meteor Fist (ペガサス流星拳, Pegasasu ryūseiken?) which initially allows him to send a large number of punches in a second. Seiya can combine all his meteor in one fist called the Pegasus Comet Fist (ペガサス彗星拳, Pegasasu suiseiken?). His most powerful technique is Pegasus Rolling Crush (ペガサスローリングクラッシュ, Pegasasu Rōringu Kurasshu?) where he grabs hold of his opponent from the back, soar miles into the air, then suicide dive head-first into the ground.

Constellation and Cloth
The Pegasus Cloth represents the Pegasus constellation, which is associated to Pegasus, the divine winged horse from Greek mythology. Seiya, along with Cassios, defeated 9 other trainees in order to advance to the final round of a tournament in the Sanctuary. The last match pitts them against each other, with Seiya pulling the victory almost effortlessly due to his mastery of the cosmos.
The Pegasus bronze cloth is damaged various times throughout the series, with Aries Mu typically responsible for repairs. In the manga, the cloth changes shape each time it is fixed, with each revision evolving the cloth more detailed. In the anime, the original design of the cloth remains intact until the beginning of the series's second arc. When the gold saints uses their blood to revive the bronze cloths, the cloths gains a little bit of the gold Cloths' strength. Because of this, the second version of the Pegasus cloth (fourth version in the manga) can change from bronze to gold whenever Seiya charges his cosmos to the maximum. The cloth that Seiya uses in the Hades arc is able to use the wings parts to fly, normally and through dimensions. In his fight against Thanatos, the Pegasus cloth evolves into a God Cloth increasing the cosmos of Seiya drastically.
Eventually, Seiya becomes powerful enough to wear the Gold Cloth of Sagittarius, a cloth that had lost its true owner before the series begin. When Seiya has the gold cloth on, his cosmos is magnified, thanks to Sagittarius Aioros' cosmos expressed through the armor and his attacks can now defeat opponents previously too powerful for just a mere bronze saint. Nevertheless, while Seiya uses the Sagittarius gold cloth many times throughout the series to save Athena from certain peril, he is never officially granted ownership of the cloth. The owner is still the former saint, Aioros.

The Saint of Dragon
Out of all five main characters, Shiryu is known as the calmest and most collected . His sheer physical strength is the greatest of the bronze saints, with perhaps the exception of Phoenix Ikki. This is reflected in his ability to have won numerous battles without his Dragon cloth. Shiryu trained at the Five Old Peaks in China to obtain the bronze cloth of the Dragon constellation, and his mentor was none other than senior gold saint, Libra Dohko.
Shiryu sports a large tattoo-like image of a green and white dragon on his back (however it is said in the manga and the anime that it is not a tattoo but is connected to his guardian dragon star and only appears as his cosmo is rising). Whenever his life is in danger, the tattoo-like image begins to fade away -- once it completely vanishes, it is a sign that Shiryu's cosmos is nearing zero -- as in death.

Power and abilities
During his training in Rozan, Shiryu awoke his cosmos and learned many techniques from Libra Dohko. He also has a good ability in many fighting styles like Kenjutsu and Taijutsu. During the Sanctuary Arc, Shiryu awake the 7th sense in his fight against Cancer Deathmask and later he awoke the 8th sense during the Hades Arc.
His signature technique is Rozan Rising Dragon Force (廬山昇龍覇, Rozanshōryūha?). It is a blow that usually knocks the opponent soaring into the air as an image of a dragon devours him. The power of the Rozan Rising Dragon Force can vary from capable to explosively powerful, depending on Shiryu's cosmos level at the time of execution. Unlike the favorite techniques of the other bronze saints, however, Shiryu's Rozan Rising Dragon Force does have one weakness -- while performing the move, his heart will be left open for a millisecond. Only three people in the series have noted this: his master, Libra Dohko, Bronze Saint Pegasus Seiya and Gold Saint Capricorn Shura.
Other minor attacks that seem to be his weakest ones are Rozan Dragon Flight (廬山龍飛翔, Rozanryūhishō?), a straight-to-the-point, jumping attack where Shiryu charges through his opponents with a single fist and Dragon's Kick (ドラゴンの蹴り, Doragon no Keri?), that Shiryu has, to date, used only once, against Cancer Deathmask, in vol. 8 of the manga, and therefore, in episode 39 of the anime adaptation. Shiryu leapt high into the air and dived toward his opponent with a sharp kick to the head. Also, although he has only used it once to date, among his defensive techniques, Shiryu knows the fabled Catch of a real sword's blade (真剣白刃取り, Shinken Shiraha Dori?); the traditional technique used in Japanese Kenjutsu to repel an opponent's sword when unarmed, Shiryu used it to stop Capricorn Shura's attacks as his fists and legs were similar to a razor-sharp blade.
During the Hades Arc Shiryu learns the Rozan One Hundred Dragons Force (廬山百龍覇, Rozanhyakuryūha?). Shiryu learned the it from watching his master's battle (although being blind in that moment). It is a technique that appears to be a 100x of the Rozan Rising Dragon Force or the Rozan Dragon Flight -- Shiryu's cosmos erupts at its maximum, and he ploughs through the enemy with both arms and palms extended. 100 dragons march in the sky as the enemies are destroyed by this energy-based offensive attack.
The final move that Shiryu uses when all else fails is Rozan Ultimate Dragon Force (廬山亢龍覇, Rozankōryūha?). It is a kamikaze technique similar to Seiya's "Pegasus Rolling Crush," except while Seiya normally intends to send both himself and his opponent back to the ground, Shiryu will continue to soar into the air and eventually into space -- killing both himself and his enemy. The Rozan Ultimate Dragon Force is something that Dohko had strongly discouraged Shiryu from using, even going as far as putting a ban on its use.
After defeating Capricorn Shura, Shiryu is entrusted with the gold saint's legendary technique Excalibur (聖剣, ekusukaribā?). It is not a physical sword, but a deadly cosmos precision focused on Shiryu's right arm. Although Shiryu's version of the sword was not as defined as Shura's (Shiryu's Excalibur lies only in his right arm, while Shura's can be unleashed from any point of his body), the Dragon later refined it enough to rival Shura's and used it to cut the unbreakable golden spear of Chrysaor Krishina of Mariner General during the Poseidon Chapter.

Constellation and cloth
The Bronze Cloth of Dragon is legendary for its large shield on the left arm guard. Its reputation is unmatched by any other cloth among Athena's saints, and only very few have ever shattered it. The Dragon Cloth itself is noted for its ultimate durability, as it had spent the last 200 years bathed under the mineral-rich waterfall of the Rozan mountains, which made it harder than diamonds, and that's the origin of the nickname "The strongest Fist and Shield". Seiya manages to destroy the Shield by tricking Shiryu into hitting his own shield. Shiryu's cloth has suffered various damages throughout the series, and, of course, required repairing. With each revision its shape gained a new form. In the anime, along with the same repairs from the manga, the cloth went through three different designs. Changes:
Due to having reformed from using a gold saint's blood, the third version of the Dragon cloth (second in the anime) can suddenly become golden with power whenever Shiryu uses his cosmos to the maximum. At that point, Shiryu has awoken his 7th sense, and is as powerful as a gold saint (however, in the battle with Chrysaor Krishna, he comments that even with the golden Dragon cloth, Shiryu's power level is still that of a Bronze Saint, and continues to overpower Shiryu with his attacks).
The Dragon Cloth represents the constellation Draco, which is associated to Ladon, the hundred eyed dragon who guarded the golden apples of the Hesperides, in Greek mythology.
During times of extreme stress, the main five bronze saints will be allowed to wear gold cloths for a temporary amount of time. In the Sanctuary arc, Shiryu showcased the 12 weapons of the Libra Gold Cloth when he, Seiya, and Shun needed help in freeing Hyoga from the Aquarius Saint's ice coffin. This was the first time Shiryu tested the Libra Cloth, but certainly not the last. In the respective battles against Poseidon, Lord of the Seas, and Thanatos, God of Death, Shiryu is given the Libra Cloth to aid his friends.
